He was editor-in-chief of ''Romanian Fad'' magazine, a humorous weekly that was published during the period of 1901 and 1902, which inaugurated the series of "sketches" and "moments" with short satirical parodies of political and social actuality and included contributors like Alexandrescu, Al. Cazaban, I. Al. Bratescu-Voinesti, and E. Gârleanu.〔 He was the contributor for several satirical periodicals as well that continued the tradition of ''Romanian Fad'' magazine, including ''Santa Sensor'', another humorous weekly, which ran from 1895 to 1901.〔 During the period between 1901 to 1904, Ranete contributed to ''Zeflemeaua'',〔 to ''Ant'' where he also was the senior editor, and to ''Age'', a periodical in Bucharest that ran daily, albeit some interruptions, from 1885-1916 under the founder Gr C.
